JBP is currently undergoing significant changes as we enter the new year. It is always a great pity when jealousy and rivalry from certain factions conspire to spoil something that was intended to benefit and help so many. With regret we are no longer able to offer digital images of the original parish registers at the request of the West Sussex Records Office. That is to say that as custodians of the original registers, rather than the owners, WSRO have had no other choice than to ask that we do not produce any further CDs with such images.
I would like to say a big, big thankyou. Firstly, to the many customers for your continued support; It is always gratifying to read your letters telling us that our transcriptions have helped you find those elusive ancestors in your personal family trees. Secondly, a big thankyou to the JBP team for their dedication and hard work, without which none of this would have been possible. The sales of the CD-Books culminated in a donation to the Chestnut Tree Children`s Hospice near Arundel for £113.16 in January - for so many of us a bleak month so we have been pleased to help make a little difference here.
One thing is certainly clear - JBP is here to stay and our mission remains clear. We will be returning with new transcriptions which will provide even better value for the real family historians who seek to research their family ancestors.
James.
