When researching your family history, there is no substitute for consulting the original source material and this means viewing the parish registers. Most of these registers can be viewed on microfilm or microfiche. Viewing of such can be difficult, dependent on the quality of the image on fiche or film, the condition of the original register books - some are now over 400 years old! The problems are further compounded by either faded ink or bleed-through.
Of course, even without such viewing problems, are you able to visit a records office? Perhaps you live in Australia, Canada, or U.S.A. Even if you live in the United Kingdom have you the time and resources to devote to tracing your Sussex ancestry?
James Brockhurst Publications are here to assist you with your family tree, providing you the chance to research in the comfort of your own home.
Here are two examples of the same parish register page, showing the Duncton Baptisms for 1802. The right-hand image shows the lower part of the same page using modern technology as produced by on our range of CD-Books
