How often do we see photographs like this from the past, often with no knowledge of the names of the people portrayed?
How many elderly relatives have those old sepia-toned family photographs with no names written on the back? How many of these photos end up being thrown out as rubbish?
James Brockhurst Publications is on a mission to stop so much of these individual historical photographs from vanishing!
The photograph above is believed to have been taken at Findon Sheep Fair, circa 1920. The gentleman to the left is one John Brockhurst (born in Bignor, 1857-1936) but who are the other two men in the photo? Do you have the same photograph and know their names?
Perhaps you have photographs with people who you have no idea who they are. If so, please get in touch with us and we will post the photos on this website.
It is highly likely that some of us may have photographs that portray someone else`s ancestors.
This is a big chance where we can all help each other with our family history research. Imagine being able not only to read the names in the parish registers but to actually see what our ancestors looked like!
So do please have a look at the family photos you may have. Is there someone in that photo you cannot put a name to? Perhaps there is someone out there who can help. Above all, please don`t let those photos end up consigned to the rubbish bin.
